Amenities and Services to Consider When Contemplating Function Venues
When organizing an event, whether for personal or corporate reasons, there will be a myriad of decisions that you would have to make. However, one of the most important decisions that could make or break your entire function is the choice of venue. Even if you choose to outsource some of the items that will be used during your event, it is always best to know what amenities are available at the venue itself. This makes it easier for you to have a backup plan in case any of your providers do not deliver on the day of the function. Here are some of the amenities and services that you should enquire about when making a choice of function venue.
Kitchen and catering services
Does the venue have a kitchen and catering crew? Are you required to put down a deposit to use the facilities or are the fees waived if you are renting out the function venue? Does the venue allow outside catering? All these questions and more should be answered so you can know whether you will be able to use their kitchen services or not.
Some venues may dictate that you can only use their in house catering if you opt for their venue. Others may allow you to use your own catering service with the condition that the food is precooked at a different location. Still other venues may not have a problem with a catering crew coming in to use their facilities as long as they are paid for the amenities.
Wait staff and clean up services
Another thing to enquire about is whether the venue can provide you with a clean-up crew or if you will be tasked with ensuring the venue is spick and span once the function is finished. Some venues may permit their own staff to wait the tables for you and clean up after your guests once they have left. However, there are also some venues that may have restrictions on using their staff to cater to your guests of they have other customers on the premises.
For instance, if you have reserved the garden of a restaurant premises, you may have to make arrangements to hire wait staff as the restaurant may not have sufficient hands on deck to also cater to your event. Alternatively, the venue may shut down depending on the magnitude of your event. In this scenario, you may have the choice of either hiring their regular wait staff or having to bring in your own personnel. Whatever the case, it is always best to know beforehand what to expect.
